  • Full Page Advertising with Pagerank10

    By admin | July 22, 2008

In an attempt to widen the net for my affiliate sites, I’ve recently set up a number of full page ads using the Pagerank10 advertising service, which they emphasise is NOT a paid links directory. They state that because of this you can get real targeted visitors to your website via the ‘full page ad’ you create. “Create Full Page Ads & Free Text Ads to advertise your website, products or services and receive real targeted visitors”.

The pages even have referral reports in the account control panel so that you can see how your site is being picked up & found in the search engines & which search phrases your visitors are using.

Each of the pages cost a minimum of £10 (£30 if you want one without text ads along the top) and can consist of just basic text, or can be designed using html. So far, I have created 8 of these full page ads, the first being for Cashback Shopper.

The first step is to choose a key phrase that will suit your site. Each pages’ URL is that key phrase, so you need to check what is available & what hasn’t already been taken. For Cashback Shopper, I chose cashback shopping site and since it was created on 23rd February 2008, it has received 593 unique visitors, directed from many different sources.

I’ve also set up pages for each of the My Travel Extras products:
    airport hotels uk airports
    airport lounges uk airports
    airport parking uk airports
    cheap car hire search
    cheap flight tickets
    discount london theatre tickets
    short breaks

which have not yet received any visitors from the search engines (as they’ve only been live for a few weeks), but are receiving visits from other pagerank10 users.

Google - the UK’s top consumer brand!!!

    By admin | July 21, 2008

This years latest poll by Superbrands reveals that Google is now the UK’s top brand. Superbrands commissions research, speaking to thousands of consumers, to determine the years “Superbrands” & “Coolbrands”.

With Google’s name becoming a verb as well as a brand name i.e. “I’ll Google it”, it’s no wonder that it’s forced its way into almost every Internet enabled home in the UK, powering 87% of Internet searches carried out by web users!

    The 2008/09 results were:

Google also came top of the Business Superbrands list & was 5th in last years Coolbrands list, so it will be interesting to see whether it can hit top spot in that category too! All these results confirm everything we already knew(!); that Google is the only search engine worth bothering with in the UK!

If you are looking for top placement in Google, then FreshWebz offers a Top Ten Google ranking for your chosen keywords, with a money back guarantee! We also offer link building campaigns for your site, which counts for 80% of Google’s ranking criteria.

Cashback Shopper is No 1 in Yahoo!!! Now for a big Google push!

    By admin | July 19, 2008

It’s got to be something to celebrate, even if Yahoo only makes up a tiny fraction of the search market nowadays - something like 4% in the UK according to an article in Web User magazine. But what the hell, Top Spot is still Top Spot :o)

Cashback Shopper has just achieved the number 1 position for all the following keyphrases on Yahoo:

and is in the top 10 results for 19 other keyphrases!!!!

It’s taken 9 months of constant promotion, blogging, marketing, seo etc. but it’s a nice feeling when the results are so visible. Will keep working at phrases that aren’t doing so well & the key objective is to start making a bigger dent in the Google SERPS!

The best Google positions currently achieved are:

    cash rewards site 7
    cashback shopper 1
    cashback shopping 3
    cashback shopping site 7
    cashback site 3
    cashback uk 9
    earn cashback 5
    extra cashback 4
    shopper cashback 1
    site cashback 4
    uk cashback 2
    uk cashback shopping 2

with 17 other phrases appearing in the next 2 pages of results.

MSN is a strange creature; I have about 13 top ten positions, but only 2 other phrases in the next 2 pages and a dozen or so ways down in the top 100! But with a only 3% of the search market, it doesn’t really matter anyway.

So, the aim now is to find the most searched phrases (& those with the highest KEI) from all these on Google & give them a real push to try & get them to the top!! With lots of FREE traffic up for grabs, this is the most important task for any affiliate marketer!

    FreshBidz Auction/Bidding Links Directory

    By admin | July 17, 2008

Having been using bidding links directories for a while now, to obtain permanent one way links, I decided to start my own web directory!

Using the phpLinkBid script was pretty straightforward & only cost $29.95 for a single site license. I decided to go for the SEO Bundle Site License which also gives two add ons, Advanced Link Stats + PageRank Checker.

phpLinkBid makes it easy to launch a full-featured bid directory with automatic payments using PayPal and powerful administration tools.
    phpLinkBid Features

As I say, setting up was pretty straightforward, even if I did make a couple of schoolboy errors & had to re-install the add-ons. The site is configured to use my existing Paypal account & to test, I set up my own websites as the first couple of entries. All works well, the payment is made, credited to my Paypal account & the link goes live automatically.

E-mails were sent to me as the bidder & site owner, so the FreshBidz Bidding Links Directory is live & now I just have to promote & find customers! The same old story lol.

Nigel’s Eco Store: Keeping stuff fresh - the eco friendly way

    By admin | July 17, 2008

    Stay fresh and eco

Recycling’s a great thing but you have to get it right. So that’s why I’m really pleased to be able to stock recycled aluminium foil. It might not sound like the most glamorous of products but it’s a great example of why recycling is so important.

It’s not just about landfill. Aluminium is made from bauxite which turns up in soil in loads of places all over the world. It’s produced by strip mining.

Most signficantly, to turn bauxite into aluminium you have to melt it, then pass humungous currents of electricity through it to separate the oxygen from the ore.

Recycled aluminium is much, much cleaner. Manufacturing it uses only a tiny 5% of the energy of the non-recycled metal. That’s a massive carbon footprint saving. One source estimates that a single recycled drinks can saves enough energy to power a TV for three hours!!!!

Available at Nigel’s Eco Store from £3.20+p&p

How to get high quality links for your site.

    By admin | July 16, 2008

Link building is one of the most important search engine optimisation steps. Without good inbound links, your website cannot get high rankings. Although it is very important that your website has optimised content, without the links to your website, search engines won’t consider that content to be relevant.

It’s important to get the right links to your website. Link spamming doesn’t work. You must make sure that you get high quality links that Google and other search engines like.

    Make your website linkworthy

You must make your website linkworthy. You cannot expect that other websites will link to your website if your site is basically a collection of affiliate links, or an online shop that looks like a thousand other online shops.

Your website must be different & unique in some way. Try the following:

    * Add articles about your products or services to your website.
    * Add tutorials and how-to articles about the topic of your website.
    * If you have a lot to say, add a blog to your website & update it regularly.
    * Add a directory with links to valuable resources on your website.

    Check your competitors

The best way to start link building is to duplicate the links that your competitors have. Find all websites that link to your competitors and then try to convince them to link to your website. I use a couple of tools to find links to competitor sites, IBP & SEO Elite. The good thing about SEO Elite is that you can select to include the Page Rank of sites as a parameter, so that you can choose to apply for links only on sites with a higher Page Rank than your own. IBP shows the Page Rank of sites, but there is no setting not to include low Page Rank sites in the results. However, it is worth using as many tools as possible & IBP is very easy to use!

    Get links from blogs

There are millions of blogs on the Internet and they all need something to write about.
Bloggers give out millions of free links each month & getting links from blogs is a good way to get links from related websites. For example, you could enter “real estate blog” or “music blog”, depending on what you sell on your website.

Using IBP to find these blogs also allows you to contact the blog owners quickly and easily and it automatically keeps track of the websites that you’ve already contacted so that you don’t contact the same person twice.

    Get links from Internet directories

Submitting your website to Internet directories can be a good way to show Google that you have a reputable website. Low quality & fly by night websites usually don’t invest the time and money that is needed to be listed in Internet directories.

Inbound links are very important if you want to get high rankings on search engines. You should optimise your web page content first to make sure that search engines find your website relevant to your targeted keywords & then submit to directories & blogs.

If more than one website has been optimised for the same keywords (and that’s usually the case) then the website with the best links will get the best rankings.

If you want permanent backlinks for your website, then consider using the FreshBidz Bidding Directory! Newly launched, you can buy links in your chosen category and then bid your way to the top of the list from just £1. Increase your bid to take a top position, & get listed higher on the directory homepage.
