iPhone Web Hosting Control Panel Access
Filed under: web hosting; Tagged as: custom interface, customer control panel, domain management, iPhone, login screen, management screen, management tasks, page management, safari, web hosting control, web hosting control panelComments OffiPhone Control Panel Access

If you have an iPhone, or a comparable Android phone, we have a custom interface that you can use which is specifically designed for providing just the web hosting management services that you’d need on-the-go.
From an iPhone, https://customer.heartinternet.co.uk/ automatically sends you to the correct interface; if you’re using a non-iPhone device which is compatible, you can get to the iPhone interface at https://customer.heartinternet.co.uk/iphone/, but it will automatically redirect you back if your browser isn’t actually compatible.
Login Screen
The login page is just a simplified version of our main login page. Selecting “Save password” will mean that you won’t need to enter your information again unless you log out (even if you reboot your phone) – this is particularly useful if you’re going to save it to your home screen (as below). If you actually meant to go to our main login page (eg. to make a purchase), you have an option to do so at the bottom of the page.
Management Screen
Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a simple interface which can let you do simple domain management tasks, log into extend, view any of your invoices, access reseller package management features, browse our support database, get the current system status (also available at http://www.webhostingstatus.com/) or automatically log in to our main customer control panel.
Alternative View
If you are viewing the page from Safari rather than an icon on your home screen, you’ll get a view like the one on the right, with brief instructions on how to save it as an icon. -

Google turns sat nav industry on its head with Android GPS tool
Filed under: Opinion; Tagged as: Google, google maps, gps navigation system, gps tool, internet satellite, iPhone, navigation systems, satellite view, street view, traffic data, traffic viewComments OffShares in sat-nav companies bombed today after internet giant Google upset their world with a free sat-nav tool for Android 2.0 mobile phones!
This new feature comes with everything you’d expect to find in a GPS navigation system, like 3D views, turn-by-turn voice guidance and automatic rerouting. But unlike most navigation systems, Google Maps Navigation was built from the ground up to take advantage of your phone’s internet connection, said Google engineers.
“When you use Google Maps Navigation, your phone automatically gets the most up-to-date maps and business listings from Google Maps — you never need to buy map upgrades or update your device,” said Keith Ito, software engineer at Google.
The software comes with a variety of views, such as Traffic View, where Google grabs traffic data over the internet, Satellite View and an amazing Street View feature that you activate by double-tapping your phone’s screen. The software also comes with a nifty “search by voice” function.
At the moment it’s only available in the US as a beta, but I can’t wait for it to come out over here, now I have my HTC Hero. What’s going to happen to the sat nav market (or even the iPhone, when the TomTom application for it costs around £60)?

“Introducing iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, Maps with GPS, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more amazing features in your hands. And just like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and full web browsing. iPhone3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do. Again.”
This is great news for anyone that loves Apple products & has to have the latest gadgets….but hang on, wouldn’t those people have already bought an iPhone? And been forced to sign an 18 month contract with O2 at a minimum cost of nearly £1000?! Do you feel a bit cheated?
However, although getting the new 3G phone may have to wait, you will get a new OS for your current model – Apple says:
“Your iPhone will do even more with the iPhone 2.0 software update. Extend its capability with applications you download directly from the new App Store. Get push email, calendar, and contacts from your work’s Microsoft Exchange server. And use new great features in Mail, Contacts, and other applications. Free in the next update.”
Maybe the iPhone 3G is the “phone” the iPhone SHOULD have been in the first place & it was just a very clever piece of marketing to release what I consider a sub standard product & get loads of people to fall for it, only to then do it all over again with what now seems to be a decent package!
What’s new on iPhone 3G?
- 3G Speed – Surf the web and download email over fast 3G mobile networks.
- Maps with GPS – Find your location, get directions, and track your route with GPS.
- App Store – Get ready to browse and download innovative applications for iPhone.
- iPhone in Enterprise – Get push email, contacts, and calendars with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
More Features
Take a look at additional iPhone features including:
- Better Email Management
- Contacts Search
- View More Attachments
- Scientific Calculator
More Languages
For its worldwide release, iPhone 3G adds more language support.
If you have waited until now to get your iPhone, then take a look on Mobiles4Me, where we will have the iPhone 3G available from 11th July.
