5 Incredible Tips To Improve Your SEO With Social Media

July 16, 2015 By freshwebz

In 2015, it goes without saying that social media is key to any online marketing strategy, although understanding that it matters is only a fraction of the battle. Putting into practice methods that actively drive traffic to your site – traffic which then converts – is where it really matters. In this blog, we’ll take a look at five practices which can improve your site’s SEO via social media.

Keep a calendar

Putting a social media calendar in place is more than simply making events available on Facebook. Plan your promotions and offers for multiple weeks (and in some cases months) in advance to ensure an effective, varied campaign. Think about what generates sales at a particular time of year when planning your promo. Find out what dates are key to your industry as a whole and allow these to influence your marketing.

Creative innovative, exciting content

Content is still king – just look at some of the most successful social media marketing campaigns of the past couple of years for proof. If you can create content that entertains your followers and relates to them, they’ll be comfortable sharing it and this ultimately drives clicks to your site. Think before you post, the last thing you want is to appear like a spammer, and a poorly executed social media campaign can turn your company into a laughing stock – who could forget #susanalbumparty, for example.

Don’t shy away from searchable keywords

Relevant keywords and hashtags in your social media posts will help to direct users searching for terms relevant to your products to ultimately end up on your site via your social content. Do your research and find out what short and long-tail keywords are likely to drive traffic to your site, and put them to use.

Use direct links to your site to help with indexing

Most social media networks are beneficial purely because they provide good ‘link juice’. The larger social sites have incredibly high page rankings, meaning that search engines tend to index your site quicker when links to it appear on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and others.

Consider search engine algorithms

The largest search engines are thought to now incorporate algorithms which take into account social media links, meaning that few can now afford not to take social media optimisation (SMO) into account. It’s now inconceivable that you can run an online store or site without having social accounts, so if you haven’t already, you need to begin setting up or at least employing the services of a consultant who can help, if it’s not your forte.

News publication leads to effective link building!

October 4, 2010 By freshwebz

Effective link building depends on strategies and tactics that make other websites want to link to the publishing page. Unique website content is probably the best way to achieve such goals naturally and trouble-free. Good content catches the attention, and if you focus on high quality, chances of success increase considerably. The entire world wide web depends on content; search engines depend on it and so do web surfers, and the inter-dependency relation goes even further. Here are some of the tricks web developers use when writing content with the direct purpose of effective link building.

You can seriously improve effective link building by publishing valuable informative content, similar to the ‘news’. By ‘news’ I point to any interesting issue related to a particular topic: this could be a personal observation or something you’ve tested but it could also be a presentation of several points of view. Go for the scoop that no one has caught so far and you’ll generate links!

Be controversial! Controversial issues are like magnet for readers. This works great, because wherever there is something debatable, people follow the information more carefully, often returning for more. Needless to say how much this can do for effective link building!

Can you become an authority in your field by debunking theories? Articles used to debunk valuable theories in certain domains get huge exposure. Scientific opinions, evidence, arguments, advantages and disadvantages versus subjective impressions are just a few cases of the web content that attracts traffic and contributes to effective link building. You definitely have to be smart to do something like this!

Resourceful web pages also get a good amount of links. Informational pages are actually compilations of practical data that are filtered or distilled for the user. Thus, the average reader makes more out of such materials, as compared to the difficulty of understanding purely scientific language. Informative websites will provide their visitors with all they need to know on a certain topic or subject.

Content is the ‘primary matter’ for article marketing and effective link building implicitly. Articles can be used for more than just individual distribution: they can be put together in the form of free e-books, they can be included in press releases or they could turn into posts for forums, blogs or social networks. Link building success usually depends on the quality of content.

One way link building can be achieved by numerous ways?

September 30, 2010 By freshwebz

Almost every online marketer knows the importance of one way link building. There are numerous types of links, but none as advantageous as incoming one. A smart web developer that sticks to a high quality standard, has the chance of achieving natural one way building, solely by the use of good content. Here are some of the major benefits of one-way links.

Incoming links do not oblige any reciprocity for link building.

You don’t have to worry about link control and link management.

They attract the most relevant, targeted traffic of all.

Page ranking improves with a growth in the number of incoming links.

There is on-going development for your website.

There are many strategies to achieve one way link building, but the best of all remains content. Other websites link to pages that have something interesting to offer. The links to your page are a tribute and a confirmation of the quality you provide. Web visitors are thus encouraged to click on links and get even more advantages from their Internet surfing experience.

With one way link building other websites are encouraging web surfers to visit your page, because of the benefits that you can provide for a certain category of users. Such subtle features make one way link building superior indeed. A business can consolidate reputation, build customer loyalty and achieve so much more thanks to the growing number of one way links.

Of course there are techniques and strategies meant to improve one way link building. Some solutions seem better inspired than others. Lots of clever developers have created small software, e-guides, e-books or other types of materials that they provide for free. The only condition for accessing or using the materials in question is to link back to their website.

Other strategies meant to maximize one way link building include blog and social network posts, forum comments, press releases, newsletters and white papers. Web surfers need information, they depend on it. And this is precisely what you have to provide in order to create good business opportunities for your company.

If you don’t have the time to handle one way link building on your own, you can try professional assistance or consultancy. There is a diversity of offers that you can choose from. Good luck!

Is Your Link Building Method the Right One for Success?

September 14, 2010 By freshwebz

Link building happens to be one of the most important elements of an SEO campaign and to get your site ranked in the search engines. But that doesn’t mean you should get them from just anywhere at any price. Link building, if done the wrong way, will always result in spending more time and more money. If you really want to build links, then you have to do it ethically, the right way. It’s not worth the risk losing all your work just because your site was banned for using shortcuts in linking. Link building practices have undergone important changes in the last few years. Actually, building links is not any easier to do, it’s gotten a lot harder to do. Google’s policies are more stringent on people who try to cheat and take short cuts. Still, there are many blackhat marketers who are always keen on using their own techniques to build links unethically through blog farms, comment spamming, etc. But there are many accepted ways to build your backlinks, where the whole process takes time, which is why marketers end up making some costly mistakes that have a negative affect on their websites.

One mistake seen is using an image for a link when it’s possible to create a text link using a relevant keyword/phrase. One of the reasons webmasters tend to ignore the minor details is because they’re in a hurry to build their links and get results. Mistakes with anchor text can be included, here. It’s always possible to get more traffic from a good image link. But for SEO considerations, a text link with relevant keywords is more powerful. It’s not necessarily accurate that an image link is better than a text link. Your traffic will be much more targeted because you’ll be ranked for the correct keywords. Search engines give higher SEO scores to relevant keywords in anchor text. There’s nothing wrong with an image link, but use it if it’s the only alternative.

Sometimes you’ll get great backlinks, but then discover the anchor text is not what it should be. Pointless anchor text will not necessarily penalize you, but you won’t get as much effectiveness as possible, either. Using relevant keywords/phrases in your anchor text is valuable. The search engines will penalize your site for having irrelevant anchor text in your backlinks. Some marketers incorrectly assume the link is more important than the anchor text. Your anchor text keyword is just as important as the backlink. The best way to leverage anchor text is to first research the most effective keywords that you want to rank for, and then include them in the appropriate links. You’ll make your links more powerful by taking advantage of the suggestions you just read about. All these mistakes are easily taken care of now that you’re aware of them.

Internal links can improve your rankings

April 13, 2010 By freshwebz

While many website owners focus on obtaining external links, it’s easy to miss internal link building, which is still an effective way to boost rankings for other pages within your website and the the best part of Internal Linking is that you have complete control over the implementation!

To get the highest possible return for your SEO, follow these simple guidelines to ensure internal links are working to improve your rankings.

1. Optimise the anchor text
You should ensure your anchor text targets your core keyword for the page. This is a good tactic to use in site-wide footer links, or even in the navigation, provided what you put there still makes sense for your visitors.

2. Ensure all links are do-follow
Google ignores link value from any links marked as “nofollow”, so make sure that you haven’t marked internal links with the “nofollow” attribute.

3. Use content based links where appropriate
Aside from the main navigation and footer links, linking to the main pages within the body text of your web page is another way to help rankings. Remember that it’s important to use your target keywords as anchor text, but make sure the actual text fits within the context of the sentence, so that the link doesn’t look out of place or seem irrelevant

4. Keep the total link numbers low
Make a note of the total number of links on any given page and try and keep this number as low as possible. This is because individual link “juice” is divided amongst ALL the links (external and internal) on the page, so the less links you have, the more value each link is going to pass on. Having hundreds of links on a page will dilute the effect of each link to almost nothing!

If you follow these simple guidelines, you should start to see some positive effect on the rankings for your keywords.
