I was contacted today by Dubai Marketing Experts, who were promoting an SEO reseller service.
I don’t recall ever signing up to receive email marketing from such a company, so this could be construed as spamming in the first instance.
However I was interested in the service, so took a look at their offer. What immediately put me off were the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors on the landing page:
The 85% of people use Google to find what they want, a service or a product in their area!
The remaining 15% of people use Bing and other search engines.
The 90% of people do not past the first Google page to find what they are searching for.
Wanna be on the first page of search engines results?
This is why many more businesses choose [image] to be found online easily by their customers!
Be the first one online and kill your competition!
Choose to be a successful business online by using our services! Be before your competitors
on every keywords you want on the search engine results!
If you are a professional company, selling yourself to other businesses, in the field of marketing and SEO, then surely your own standards HAVE to be 100%?
I queried this by replying to the email and this is the conversation:

I think I would be more impressed if your landing page didn’t contain quite so many spelling/grammatical errors!

Thanks for the suggestion but don’t worry the most important thing is that we don’t do any mistake at all as all our customers can see!

My point is that if you don’t take care of your own promotional marketing, what confidence can I have in what you would do for me/my client’s?

I’m not suggesting you have a Nobel prize!! Just basic literacy!! Modern SEO is content driven; surely the content has to be legible/professional?

Listen mate i do not accept lessons from anybody as i said its just a quick newsletter my team prepared today for a testing. Bye
I think I can safely say I won’t be using this company for anything! As I’ve written before about these SEO companies, there’s nothing more off-putting than someone trying to sell me an online service, when they don’t seem able to string a sentence together themselves!
Update 10th June 2015
Even now, over a year later, a look at their website reveals grammatical errors and poor content……..
